Setting up Brilliant for the first time

To install or set up any of your Brilliant devices, download the Brilliant mobile app and begin an installation either by tapping “Install a Brilliant” from our Home Screen or if you are already logged in tap on the Settings icon and then “Install a Brilliant Device”.

When a Brilliant Control is powered on for the first time, you will need to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After the control is connected to your Wi-Fi it will take a few moments to update.

Once the control has been updated it will show a QR code that can be scanned from the mobile app to connect it to your home.

Follow the directions on the screen of your mobile app and proceed through the questions to complete the setup.

Please complete the entire process in order to properly set up your Brilliant.

Brilliant works best when connected to Wi-Fi that has an Internet connection. This enables the device to work with other smart home products and allows you to control it from the mobile app and receive updated features automatically. Although you can use Brilliant without Wi-Fi or an Internet connection, it will primarily be limited to light adjustment capabilities if you do not connect to Wi-Fi.
