This is disappointing. I would like to see an API to expose the Brilliant devices to platforms such as Home Assistant which is a fantastic open source platform for Home Automation.

Generally these open source developers are forced to go through hoops to make these things work if it's even possible.
I completely agree, being able to integrate with Home Assistant would be great.
I was all set to buy these until I saw there is no public api and I couldn't use Home Assistant
My Home Assistant setup found mine on the network and tried to set it up with Home Kit but I could not get it work for what ever reason. So if you have Home Kit hub integrated with HA you can it to work supposedly.
