How to add a New Device to Your Home

Locally discovered devices like Wemo, Sonos and LIFX can now be added via the mobile app as described in this article. There are a few different ways to add devices on your control, learn how below: 


1) From the Brilliant Alert Center:

The Alert Center notifies you when there are devices on your home’s wifi network that are ready to be configured to your Brilliant home. It will only appear if there are pending alerts that require your action. If this is the case, the “Alerts” banner will appear at the top of your Home Screen. 

To configure devices this way: 

  1. Tap the Alert banner
  2. Select the desired integration 
  3. Select the device(s) that you would like to configure 
  4. Follow on-screen directions

2) Add devices directly from the Home Screen: 

  1. Go to your Home Screen
  2. Select “Add Device”
  3. Choose the brand you’d like to add a product from
  4. Follow on-screen directions


3) From the Room Device list: 

  1. From the bottom tray > Tap Rooms
  2. Choose the room that you want to add a device to 
  3. Tap the pencil icon at the top right of your screen (Edit mode) 
  4. Tap Add New Device
  5. Choose your desired option from the list of integrations 
  6. Follow the on-screen directions 


4) From Settings: 

  1. From the Home Screen > Tap the Settings gear icon in the top right
  2. Tap Works With Brilliant > Choose your desired integration > Select “Add Devices” 
  3. Follow the on-screen directions
