Brilliant Max now supports Shelly Relays and Gateways with a Brilliant Max subscription. 
 

How it works: 

A relay can be installed inside of your wall with any light switch with a line, load, and neutral wires. 

The relay makes any light switch or power outlet smart by allowing the Brilliant mobile app or Control to turn on/off the device. 

A Shelly Gateway can be added to your home to extend the connectivity in your home, allowing you to add as many Shelly and Brilliant devices to your home and extend their reach.  

 

How to add Relays and Gateways to Brilliant

On your mobile app: 

  1. Go to Settings 
  2. Works With
  3. Shelly
  4. Turn on your Bluetooth
  5. Discover your devices, if you have multiple devices, the device nearest to your phone will appear at the top of the list.
  6. Press + device
  7. Name your device, assign it to a room in your home, and let us know if the relay will control a light or an outlet. 
    Please note that we are only supporting lights and outlets with relays. In the future we will support Garage Doors and Blinds with Motors. 
  8. You will need to enter your Wifi Credentials in order to add the device to Brilliant
  9. After adding your Wifi Credentials, Brilliant will add the Relay and Gateway to your home connecting it from Bluetooth to a Wifi connection so that you can control your device when you are away from your home. 
  10. Once your device has been added, you will be able to find them in your mobile app and on your Brilliant Control

FAQ

  1. Can I add Relays to my scenes, routines, and Modes? 
    Absolutely, a common use would be to have your lights turn on when it is sunset in rooms you will be using when it gets dark, like your kitchen or living room. 
  2. Will I need to setup my device on the Shelly App?
    No, the Brilliant app will connect to the Shelly Relay and Gateway via Bluetooth, it will also remove the Relay from the Shelly App if it was previously connected via the Shelly App. 
  3. Will Relays be controllable via Voice Assistant? 
    Yes, the Brilliant Skill with Alexa will continue to work with your Shelly Relays, similar to your other 3P integrations

  4. How do I reset my device?
